Layout Of STOPLINE-Overflow Control Detectors

Stop line detection is set up to detect the passage characteristics of vehicles, which can output intersection traffic flow and provide accurate basic data for traffic signal control. Overflow control identifies the traffic overflow status of key road sections in real time through the reasonable arrangement of detectors and establishes effective traffic overflow strategies. The combination of these two control strategies can effectively prevent queued vehicles from spreading to adjacent intersections, and by improving the operating efficiency of the traffic network in the entire control area, it can effectively solve the problems of insufficient urban traffic capacity and traffic congestion.

Layout method:

(1) One MPD093 radar-vision-magnetism integrated detector shall be installed on each signal lamp pole at the four directions of the intersection, and the radar-vision-magnetism integrated detector shall face the direction of incoming vehicles.

(2) A row of virtual coils shall be set at a position about 1m behind the stop line on the approach road for detecting traffic flow.

(3) In the two lanes in the exit direction of each direction, two geomagnets shall be installed in each lane, with an interval of 4m between the two geomagnets in the same lane. They are used for overflow detection and queuing alarm, and are set at a position about 50m away from the stop line in the exit direction.

(4) A row of geomagnetic detectors shall be set at both the head and tail of the left-turn approach guide lane to detect traffic flow and vehicle occupation status.

(5) The installation position of the repeater must ensure that the geomagnetic detectors/radar-vision-magnetism integrated detectors supported by the repeater are within its field of view and coverage range without obstruction. The maximum distance between the repeater and the radar-vision-magnetism integrated detector is 310m. Therefore, the repeater can be installed at any position as long as it can provide good signal coverage to the radar-vision-magnetism integrated detectors/geomagnetic detectors.
