Timed Optimization Control Scheme
Based on the traffic conditions and operational characteristics of the intersection, a signal control scheme for the intersection shall be preset and optimized regularly. To provide a sufficient data foundation and reduce the cost of manual surveys, traffic detection facilities shall be installed to collect basic traffic flow data.
Using radar-vision-geomagnetism integrated microwave detectors for information collection can give full play to the advantages of technology integration, achieving a balance in detection area coverage, detection adaptability, cost control, and other aspects. These detectors can accurately detect various types of information such as road traffic flow, occupancy rate, number of queued vehicles at intersections, and vehicle travel speed around the clock and in all directions.
# Layout Method:
(1) Install a stop line detector 1-2 meters away from the stop line on the approach road to detect road traffic flow.
(2) Deploy one radar-vision-geomagnetism integrated detector on each electronic police pole of every approach road, facing the direction of incoming vehicles, which can detect time occupancy and vehicle queue length.
(3) The installation position of the repeater must ensure that the geomagnetic detectors/radar-vision-geomagnetism integrated detectors supported by the repeater are within its field of view and coverage range without obstruction. The maximum distance between the repeater and the radar-vision-geomagnetism integrated detector is 310 meters. Therefore, the repeater can be installed at any position as long as it can provide good signal coverage to the radar-vision-geomagnetism integrated microwave detectors/geomagnetic detectors.
